Privacy policy
The short tour, then the fine print. Last updated September 2026.
The one-paragraph version
The Voicer Choicer has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server-side database about you. Your ratings and notes stay in your own browser. Recordings from the practice tool never leave your device. The games themselves load from third-party hosts inside frames, and they are covered by those hosts' own policies — we describe what we know below so there are no surprises.
What we store, and where
Local storage: the rating widget saves your star ratings and session notes to your browser's local storage under keys beginning with tvc-rating-. That data is readable only by this site in that browser, and clearing site data erases it permanently.
Practice recordings: takes recorded with the practice-room tool exist as temporary in-memory blobs inside the tab. They are never transmitted anywhere and disappear when the tab closes, unless you choose to download a file yourself.
The microphone permission
Voice games need to hear you, so your browser shows a permission prompt scoped to this site. The audio stream goes to the embedded game running in the page, for as long as you play. We do not record, store, or transmit microphone audio ourselves — there is no server on our side receiving it. You can revoke the permission at any time via the mic icon next to the address bar, and the games marked mic-optional never request it at all.
Third-party frames
Games are embedded from external hosting portals (the source of each game is linked on its page). When you press Play, your browser connects directly to those hosts, so their cookies, analytics, and content policies apply to the game session. If you prefer to avoid embedded frames entirely, every game page links the source portal so you can play there instead.
Analytics
This site uses Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics script loaded from pl.screwdom.org. It records aggregate page-view counts only: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no personal data, and nothing is shared with advertising networks.
Children and contact
The site is a general-audience game library and asks for no personal information from anyone. If you have questions about this policy, write to hello@thevoicerchoicer.org.
